Red oak

Hickory

Maple

Cherry

Knotty Alder

Clear Alder

Red oak has sapwood that is white to light brown and the heartwood is a reddish brown.  It is mainly straight-grained, with a coarse texture

Hickory is well-known for its strength and is a very hard wood. Known for its variation between the sap and heartwood, hickory is ideal for a rustic appearance.

Maple generally has a greyish white sapwood with  a reddish brown heartwood. The wood is usually straight-grained and is ideal for a painted finish.

The heartwood of cherry is red to reddish brown and will darken drastically with age while the sapwood is creamy white. The wood has a fine uniform, straight grain and stains well for a rich, traditional look.

Knotty alder is light brown with a hint of yellow or red.  The wood is fairly straight-grained with a uniform texture and takes stain quite well. Similar to cherry with less drastic aging.

Clear alder is light brown with a hint of yellow or red.  The wood is fairly straight-grained with a uniform texture and takes stain quite well. Similar to cherry with less drastic aging.

Common Walnut

Select Walnut

Quarter Sawn White Oak

Knotty Pine

Red Birch

Mahogany

The sapwood of walnut is white, while the heartwood is a chocolate brown with a purplish cast.  Common walnut contains a wide variation in color and has both sapwood and heartwood. When stained with a dark finish it appears very similar to select walnut. Also available in rustic which includes knots.

Select walnut is selected to contain mostly heartwood which is a chocolate brown with a purplish cast.  While a fair amount of variation still occurs when natural or stained lightly, it is more uniform than common walnut.

The sapwood is light-colored and the heartwood is light to dark brown. Quarter sawn white oak is mostly straight-grained with a medium texture with the characteristic flecks throughout. Texture is perfect for a weathered, sandblasted technique.

Knotty pine is the softest of our hardwoods. It takes stain very well and also can be used for a painted finish. Must be distressed as the soft nature of the wood will be prone to denting and knicking.

Red birch can range from blonde to light brown to dark reddish brown. It is a dense wood that is extremely durable. When stained it has a rich deep color.

Mahogany has a heartwood that ranges from a very pale pink to a deeper reddish brown. Color tends to darken with age. Theg rain is fairly straight with a medium to coarse texture. When finished it has a deep rich luster.
